The Csikász Gallery of the House of Arts Veszprém presents a little-known, chiefly experimental part of the oeuvre of Endre Kovács (1946–2020). Between 1966 and 1974, he was an active participant in the Hungarian avant-garde movement, a collaborator and photographer at the Kassák Theatre (later Squat Theatre) Péter Halász founded, first in Budapest, and then in Paris and Rotterdam. After he emigrated in 1974, he studied at the Geneva University of Arts, where he graduated in film and video, at a time when video was one of the most progressive media in the visual arts. “Throughout my life I have always sought new possibilities within the art of photography as new technical solutions and treatments of subjects emerged in each new period,” he wrote.
