A selection from the photographic work of three decades
The works of Enikő Gábor occupy a very special position in Hungarian art. Not only because they straddle photography and painting, or because the conscious choice of technique and experimentation infuse each project with new inspiration and momentum, but also because her works employ diverse approaches as they reflect on the current state of the image, the achievements and effects of the digital and virtual age.
She usually works the light-sensitive surface directly, without using a camera, employing analogue or digital processes for her photographs and photographic objects. Catches of Light is Enikő Gábor’s retrospective exhibition at Hegyvidék Gallery, which selects from the photographs of the past thirty years, from her early works to her most recent series (Camera Reluxa, Photograms, Authentic Copy, Spheres, Introversions).
