The exhibition examines the effects of direct and indirect experience. It explores how the experiences of others or illusory visions/experiences shape our way of thinking. It focuses on the interpretation of both how the personal memories of people we know or have never met affect us, and how doubt may arise about their authenticity.
The artworks on display explore experience transfer with the use of techniques that are closely related to authenticity, as well as to first-hand experiences of potentially unauthentic origin. The exhibiting artists worked with family videos, manipulated photos and virtual reality, which reflects on current attitudes towards knowledge based on information or gained through experience.
