The Szebeni Workshop Photography Community was founded in 2015 and took on the name of Balogh Rudolf Prize winning Artist of Merit András Szebeni (1946–2020) in its third year. By the time the community got to present five years of work at the most prestigious Hungarian exhibition space, the National Museum, its founder had died and the pandemic forced a postponement of the survey, which was due at the turn of 2019/2020. This is nonetheless a time for celebration and remembrance. András Szebeni offered the opportunity to participate to such sensitive, progressive, humanist and professional artists whose photos, taken during the five years of the creative workshop, are now deservedly included in an exhibition that accompanies the most prestigious international display of press photography, the World Press Photo.
