In his book, You Are Here, visual artist and photographer Tibor Gyenis selects from the works of the past twenty years. Edited by Péter Baki and designed by Gábor Gerhes, the volume includes photographs and the unique photo-objects the artist shaped by carving and engraving. László Garaczi contributed a literary introduction. The photos in the volume emerged at the intersection of geometry and landscapes. The photographs of landscape interventions and objects placed in natural settings are informed by the same geometric considerations that characterize those works that are created by carving or cutting the mounts of photographs. The volume presents some 50 work on 75 pages.
The book is launched at a roundtable discussion in the SunLight Studio of Mai Manó House, an event of Hungarian Month of Photography 2020. The panel includes Péter Baki (director of Hungarian Museum of Photography), Gábor Gerhes (visual artist, designer of the volume), László Garaczi (writer, author of the foreword to You Are Here), and Tibor Gyenis.
