Magdolna Vékás developed the materiality of the photograph, and pushed it to its extremes, in very interesting projects. Two worlds, New York and Budapest, enter into a special relationship at the exhibition, thanks to a form of appearance that is unique in the history of photography, as the pictures are printed on metal and stone plates. The materiality of the pictures is linked to a sense of the cities’ physical reality, to the intangible mood and cultural saturation that keep evoking their image in our collective memory.
